Dr. Jeremy Lewis is a renowned tuba and euphonium performer, teacher, and clinician. He has been a member of the West Texas A&M University faculty since 2008, also serving as principal tubist with the Amarillo Symphony Orchestra since 2009. In 2018, Jeremy was selected to serve as the host of the South Central Regional Tuba-Euphonium Conference.
Jeremy has academic degrees from Texas Tech University (Doctorate), Indiana University (Masters), and Texas Christian University (undergraduate). He is an international performer and clinician, having presented performances in Sweden, Italy, and across the United States. His students have been placed in some of the nation’s top ensembles and competitions, including the US Air Force Band of Mid-America, the Leonard Falcone International Euphonium Competition finals, Texas Music Educators Association All-State, All-Texas Small School Bands All-State, and prestigious Drum Corps International programs such as the Blue Devils and Carolina Crown Drum Bugle Corps. Jeremy’s former students have gone on to become successful band directors, with placement in the 4A and 5A Texas State Marching Band Finals and the ATSSB state honor band finals.
Jeremy is a proud Miraphone Performing Artist and Clinician and performs exclusively on the Miraphone 1293 CC tuba and 1281 “Petruschka” F tuba. He is currently researching topics on practice, rhythm, and brass pedagogy.
